Class, Equity, & Advocacy Research Team (CLEAR)

Welcome!

The Class, Equity, and Advocacy Research (CLEAR) team conducts research that promotes more equitable systems in mental healthcare and education. We are a group of counseling psychology faculty and students who are invested in the healing of our communities!

Our Mission

Our research mission is to actively prioritize individuals and communities who have been historically oppressed in higher education and counseling. By examining the ways in which social systems inhibit and facilitate people’s well-being, we aim to use our research to contribute towards fostering a more just and compassionate society. Our work primarily focuses on issues of classism and economic marginalization to address following questions: (1) How are marginalized individuals and communities affected by and respond to stigma and systemic injustice; and (2) How could we further dismantle systemic barriers (e.g., classism, heterosexism, transphobia) in higher education and mental healthcare.

We are thrilled that you are interested in our work and encourage you to look through our website for more information about our team, current projects, and for prospective students.
