Mun Yuk Chin (she/they)
Mun Yuk Chin is an assistant professor of Counseling Psychology in the Educational Psychology department. She grew up in Malaysia and Singapore. Mun earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Their scholarship has focused on the effects of classism and transphobia on class- and gender-diverse communities. For their dissertation, Mun investigated the nature and mood effects of social class concealment among undergraduate students who are low-income. She is also invested in the clinical training of aspiring psychologists and counselors, particularly as culturally-responsive practitioners. Outside of work, Mun enjoys eating delicious foods, watching and occasionally naming birds, and reading young adult fiction. Their CEHS faculty profile can be found here:
Kaitlynn Johnson (she/her)
Kaitlynn is a first-year doctoral student in UNL’s Counseling Psychology program. She previously received both her master’s degree in counseling psychology and bachelor's degrees in psychology and journalism from UNL, where she also competed for the school’s cross country and track teams. Kaitlynn’s research interests include the well-being of LGBTQA+ student-athletes and topics involving both student-athletes and the LGBTQA+ population as a whole. Kaitlynn is passionate about clients having access to affirming and inclusive mental health care. In her free time, Kaitlynn enjoys spending time with friends and family (including her cat), crocheting, running, and reading.
Davianna Daydreamer (they/them)
Davianna is a second-year student in the Counseling Psychology doctoral program here at UNL. They come from Los Angeles, California as a first-gen former foster youth. Davianna is passionate in their efforts to support underrepresented youth through research and active advocacy, while also continuing their education towards multiculturalism to better serve multiple and intersecting identities. In their free time, Davianna enjoys creating art through different mediums, listening to music, daydreaming, and spending time with their siblings.
Jace Meunier (they/them)
Jace Meunier is a second-year student in the Counseling Psychology doctoral program. After earning their Bachelor of Science from the University of New Orleans in 2022, they worked as a research assistant on a longitudinal childhood development study. Their research interests broadly include mental health disparities among marginalized populations, especially sexual and gender minorities. Jace is passionate about advocating for liberatory and harm-reduction approaches in clinical practice with trans and queer folks. Outside of work, they enjoy spending time with their dog, listening to podcasts, and hanging out in coffee shops.
Kamryn Buchanan (she/her)
Kamryn Buchanan is a third-year student in the Counseling Psychology doctoral program here at UNL. She is interested in research on multiculturalism in mental health. Kamryn is passionate about providing therapy and conducting outreach to historically underserved communities, including students of color, LGBTQ+ students, and those at the intersection of these identities. In her free time, she enjoys walking her French Bulldog Benzley, watching Netflix documentaries, exercising, or online shopping.
